Since opening in 1962 Coventry Cathedral has been a major tourist attraction welcoming both tourists and pilgrims from around the word. I was very pleased to be given a tour of the Cathedral… The artwork inside is incredible and well worth a visit!
I was asked to design a logo for the Cathedral’s ‘Together For Hope’ project, an initiative aimed at widening the appeal of their world renowned reconciliation work to include local, national and international multi-faith organisations. The logo needed to work in harmony with their existing set of logos, and importantly avoid the use of specifically Christian symbolism. Influenced by the Cathedral’s baptistry window the logo features a typeface unique to the Cathedral. I was pleased to hear that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were amongst the first to view the new logo during a visit to Coventry.
I was then asked to develop a set of banners to be displayed within the Cathedral, communicating to visitors their reconciliation work which has a central place in the vision of Coventry Cathedral.
